Entry Requirements:

Apprentices are required to meet the initial entry points for English and maths as follows:

  • For level 2 apprenticeships the minimum entry level for English and maths is ‘Entry level 3’ (E3).
  • For all level 3 and 4 apprenticeships the minimum English and maths level 1, ideally level 2.
  • For level 5 and 6 apprenticeships, the minimum English and maths should be level 2, some individual circumstances may be considered at level 1.

Initial assessment is completed prior to starting the course.  All applicants will be supported to attain these entry levels prior to joining the course, or whilst on the course, where possible.

Apprentices working with young people and vulnerable adults would be required to hold a DBS clearance as necessary.

You must be:

  • 16 or over by the end of the summer holidays
  • living in England
  • not in full-time education

Designed for customer service practitioners in a wide range of job roles and industries, this apprenticeship aims to develop a learner’s customer service skills.

Your training equips you with the expertise to offer outstanding customer service and the confidence to deal with your customers in a positive and professional way.

Completion of this apprenticeship will lead to eligibility to join the Institute of Customer Service as an individual member at professional level.

Who it's for:

Professionals providing customer service products and services for businesses and other organisations including face-to-face, telephone, digital and written contact and communications. Customers can be classed as internal or external.

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours:

Knowledge – The job you must do, your main tasks and responsibilities; the importance of having the right values and behaviours; the importance of communication; build trust with a customer and why this is important.

Skills – Interpersonal skills; communication; influencing skills; personal organisation; dealing with customer conflict and challenge.

Behaviours – Developing self; being open to feedback; team working; equality – treating all customers as individuals; right first time.
