Course Outline:

Qualification overview:

You will gain the following qualifications:

  • BTEC Level 1 in Construction
  • IQ Level 1 in Health and Safety on a Construction Site
  • CSCS Revision, test and card
  • Traffic Management* (TTMBC and T1/2)

*This course is delivered remotely, and units can be completed using a smart phone, however to complete Traffic Management you will need access to a laptop or computer

Progression:

Following the course you can progress into various labourer roles such as carpentry, painting, roofing, flooring or tiling, masonry, or general construction. As you gain more experience you could move onto supervisory or management roles, start and run your own businesses or study for further qualifications.

Careers can include (but aren’t limited to) bricklayer, building surveyor, carpenter, crane driver, drone pilot, fence installer, land surveyor, quarry engineer, roofer, scaffolder or shopfitter.

Eligibility:

If you’re 16+ and not in employment, education or training and haven’t previously completed a course in construction. Attending will not affect your benefits.

Due to funding requirements, you need to be living in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority or surrounding areas.
