The need for a skilled workforce within the construction sector is continually growing. More and more clients are insisting on contractors having a CSCS carded workforce and there is a high level of development planned for the East of England prior to the Olympics in 2012.

On site assessment and training (OSAT) is a fast track route to an NVQ Level 2. An assessor visits learners in their workplace and develops individual learner plans to facilitate achievement of an NVQ. Existing skills and competencies are recognised with training delivered where required.

Funding is available for employers to upskill their workforce to obtain an NVQ Level 2. To be eligible for the funding, the learner must:

• be at least be 19 years old
• be employed by a company not employing more than 250 employees
• work in the construction sector
• live or work in Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire or Norfolk
