Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

If your organisation wishes to innovate, expand or improve its performance, a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) may be an ideal way to tackle a major strategic challenge.. KTPs are a government initiative that helps organisations, particularly SMEs, gain access to University knowledge, expertise and resources in order to develop new products, services and processes.

KTPs support companies by providing funding (up to 60% of costs), project management and training, in order to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technology.

Small and medium-sized businesses with the potential to grow benefit from:

  • The expertise of University academics and researchers
  • The knowledge and skills of a graduate
  • Minimal expense

Many Universities and Colleges in the UK are recognised worldwide for their, often groundbreaking, research. Imagine if you could tap into this to help take your business forward. Anglia Ruskin University is Ixion Holdings' parent company and, as such, Ixion can offer a wealth of opportunities for KTP's in a wide range of industries and applications from manufacturing, design, IT and research and development, to personnel, sales and finance.

£££ Funding opportunities
A KTP is part-funded by a government grant. A small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) would be expected to contribute about a third of the costs involved in the project.

The average annual contribution to a project for an SME would be from around £20,000.

How does KTP work?

The knowledge sought is embedded into the organisation from the knowledge base through a project or projects undertaken by a recently qualified person (Associate) recruited to specifically work on that project.

KTP can help you:

  • Find an innovative solution to help your organisation grow
  • Access highly qualified people to spearhead new projects
  • Access experts who can help take your organisation forward
  • Increase your annual profits
  • Create new jobs
  • Increase the skills of your existing staff
