Job application Skills

What is Job Search Skills and Personal Development?
Finding a job can take hard work and dedication. People also need to have the skills to secure the type of job they want.

Ixion’s Job Search Skills and Personal Development programme is aimed at people who are currently unemployed and who may be finding it difficult to find the job they want. We all need a little help and Ixion’s Job Search Skills and Personal Development offers that help.

Courses, workshops, coaching and support designed to give unemployed people the knowledge and skills to seek out jobs and to prepare themselves for interview and employment.

Employability

We offer: one-to-one activities over 2/3 months; 2/3-day group courses to gear a learner up for a particular employment sector; or 2/3 week training and inductions for a particular employer. We also deliver courses on the following: numeracy brush-up skills; IT and database use, handling irate telephone calls, customer service modules and interview skills.

A sample of sectors that Ixion work with includes: Administration, Call Centres, Construction, Health & Social Care and Hospitality.

Our delivery is informed by research on the most effective ways to get people back into work and contributing to the economy and their community. In short – what WORKS?

This requires integrated services, increasing skills, tackling specific basic skills gaps, extending best practice, tailored advice and guidance, and sourcing more sustainable jobs through support, learning and achievement of qualifications.

We not only offer training and progression to those already in work, but also offer support to hard-to-reach and disadvantaged groups, such as minorities and those with few or no qualifications, by building their confidence and ability to return to or enter the workforce.

And the journey doesn’t end there. We aim to mentor and support learners - once in employment - to go on and undertake further learning and progression, to boost their motivation and value to any employer.

How can the programme help employers?

Ixion has a dedicated team of professionals who are there to liaise with employers and determine their recruitment needs.

From a large bank of unemployed people -yet highly motivated and job ready- Ixion assists organisations to search and select the right candidates for them – and it’s absolutely FREE.
