New Enterprise Allowance
Starting a business couldn't be easier.
Ixion is the biggest single organisation in the UK in the DWP/JCP NEA programme (Ixion has helped 6000 unemployed people start up their business)
If you’re getting Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) and you believe that you have a viable business idea, you can apply for New Enterprise Allowance support.
Speak to Your Jobcentre Plus adviser who can tell you about the help we provide to support your business venture, ask them to refer you to the Ixion New Enterprise Allowance team.
You’ll be given access to a business mentor, who will provide; advice and support on becoming self-employed, setting up your business, starting to trade and continued support during the initial trading period.
There are two stages to the NEA program:
Stage One: Up to 8 Weeks for Business Planning supported by Business Advisors, Enterprise Workshops & Volunteer Business Mentors
Stage Two: Commence Trading, customer completes a sign-off process with their JCP Advisor to transition from JSA and to start receiving the NEA Financial support.
Once you have completed a business plan and it’s been approved, you might get:
- a weekly allowance worth up to £1,274 over 26 weeks
- a loan of up to £1,000 to help with start-up costs
- To date Ixion has helped c. 6000 people on the New Enterprise Allowance program take their business concept through to a completed business plan and into starting up their business.
