The topic for 2008 was on workforce skills and employability.  The keynote speaker was Richard Howitt MEP with support on the debate panel from Caroline Neville - LSC East of England; Keith Hughes - Business Link; Miranda Leate - Birkett Long; Sally Prentis - Radius 360 and Vicky Hitcham - Train to Gain.

After hearing from keynote speakers, delegates were then asked to consider the problems and issues businesses in the East of England face on the following subjects:

- Education and Training
- Trades and Apprenticeships
- Foreign Workers
- Up-Skilling
